I dropped out of high school. Became a father young — still the role I’m most proud of. Right now my daughter and I are co-founding a business together. That’s what this work makes possible.

I built a real estate group that crossed a billion in sales. Founded, co-founded, and still actively lead eleven businesses across real estate, retreat, publishing, and beyond. I sit on two national nonprofit boards. I know what it takes to win by the world’s rules — and I know exactly what it costs. I also spent years pretending to be straight. Numbing myself with achievement. Privately crumbling while publicly crushing it. I know what it costs to live a lie — because I paid that bill for a long time, in ways that showed up in my business, my body, and everyone I loved.

Then I burned it down. And rebuilt it with my husband Grant, two retreat centers — Hackmatack in the Midwest and Out of Time in Palm Springs — a Buddhist temple I serve as President of, a book that sold 30,000 copies, and a life I am no longer ashamed of. The ashes make damn good soil.

I have been meditating for over 30 years. I have walked alongside people in recovery — from addiction, from grief, from versions of themselves they desperately needed to leave behind. I have logged thousands of hours of coaching across entrepreneurs, executives, artists, spiritual leaders, and humans in every kind of crisis and every kind of breakthrough imaginable. I have sat with Buddhist monks and with billionaires. With people rebuilding from bankruptcy and people who have everything and feel nothing.

I work entirely by word of mouth. No ads. No funnels. Every person who has found their way to this work came because someone who did the work sent them. My podcast Not Your Teacher and my books — including Empty Empty Happy Happy and two forthcoming titles releasing in early 2027 — extend the work into the world. But the real work still happens in the room.
